We collect from the members: used newspapers, blankets,sheets, towels, bathmats, etc., we also ask for cash donations to pay for dog and cat food,treats and toys. We then go to the Popcorn Zoo and take everything that we have collected, about 2 or 3 times a year in order to help the abandoned animals have a better life until they are adopted.   ​Popcorn Park Zoo wish list.

Card Parties - Are held once a month. This is similar to Activities Day but open to members and the Public.   $3.00 donation at the door.

At the February meeting each year, members bring in self-crafted items, plants they have grown and home baked goods for judging at Mini-Achievement Day. First place winners advance to the District Level and could go on to State and National.

Community Service Programs
Arts Creative 

A fun department  where members can utilize their current abilities or learn a new craft. Projects to include gifts for various community organizations as well as take home creations for members. 
(Cost of take home craft supplies will vary). In the past we have done such items as Candy Cane Mice for the Food Bank as well as holiday wreaths and paper folding projects. 

                                               Meets 3rd Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.to 12:00 noon.

Arts Performing - Drama

Commences in October to begin rehearsals for a 30 minute skit to be performed in December for the Old Guard and the General Membership. The public is invited to a performance.

Arts Performing - Music
Meets twice monthly (sometimes more). Anyone joining will learn a repertoire of songs. This group entertains the General membership, the Old Guard, area nursing homes, Independent living residences, and the public at the Drama presentation in December.
Meets 1st Friday at 9:45 a.m. and 4th Thursday at 12:30 p.m.

Conservation
This committee works to protect, preserve, enhance and beautify the environment around them.  Throughout the year the committee works on various  projects and encourages members to reuse and recycle. All members are encouraged to offer ideas and assist with projects.

Education 
Devoted to continuing education as well as providing scholarships to Lacey Township High School graduating students and sending Lacey Township High School girls to Douglass College Girls Career Institute each year.

Girls Career Institute – GCI Scholarships  
Each spring a high school junior is selected to attend a 3 day educational experience/introduction to college life at Douglass College. This is paid for by the club.

Home Life

1. Social Services 
Members knit items for nursing homes, baby hats for hospital nurseries and the Wrapped in Love Program.  We collect tabs from soda cans, Cell phones, Box Tops labels for Education, Greeting cards (front only).   They also participate in the October Cookie Day for a local nursing home and, 
"Help a Lacey Neighbor" program.    (Letters of request must be signed and given to the President and Executive Board for consideration by the October meeting of each year.

2. Nursing Home
Club members bring in items (toiletries, etc.)  for Crystal Lake Nursing Home residents.  A sign-up sheet is circulated at monthly club meeting for volunteers to help serve cake and juice at the nursing home once a month.

International Outreach
Raises funds for people throughout the world to improve their quality of life and health. A different organization is chosen once or twice a year.

Literature

Members of the “book club” read a given book each month from a pre-determined list (Book list)

and then discuss the book at the next meeting.  


Members also host the "Annual Christmas/Holiday Program" where the Music and Drama departments entertain the public.  The book club also sell and send out “Santa Letters”. Orders are taken in October and mailed out the first week of December.

Public Issues


1.Lacey Food Bank  
 Each member is asked to bring 3 cans of tuna fish to the monthly meeting for the Lacey Food Bank.

2. N.J. Sharing Network/Wrapped in Love Program

This committee asks for participation by knitting or crocheting lap blankets, shawls and/or scraves for men and women.  Handmade items are then presented to families who have given the "gift of life" as comfort items.

Day of Service

Domestic Violence/Providence House 

Providence House Domestic Violence Services of Catholic Charities provides comprehensive services to victims of domestic abuse and their children. We seek to end the cycle of domestic abuse through education, empowerment and advocacy while providing a safe haven from abuse.

Member Orientation

A “mentoring “ committee works in conjunction with Membership. Established members will meet and greet prospective and new members and guide them through club protocol.

Special State Project 
Each year the New Jersey State Federation of Woman's Clubs selects one project that all state clubs support.   This year it is CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate)

Activities Day    

Weekly  Mah Jongg, cards and board games are held for members. A non-Member may attend ONLY ONCE.  If you want to learn a particular game or brush up on your skills, members are eager to help. Come as often as you like.

Cookie Day    

All members are asked to bake NON-NUT cookies which are then packaged for distribution to a local nursing home.                                  Chairwoman:  Carol Jones


Parade    

Each Memorial Day members walk in the Lacey Township parade behind the club banner waving flags and acknowledging greetings from spectators.  Our contingent has also performed a routine with red, white and blue streamers to patriotic music. A wreath is presented at the Monument honoring our veterans and soldiers.
